Assistive Technology: Education

MOVE (Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience) helps children and adults with severe disabilities acquire more abilities (and independence) to sit, stand, walk and transition. This is achieved through instruction and adaptive equipment.

VizZle is a shared, web-based, interactive learning library for supporting students with special needs across multiple devices. It provides a library of more than 14,000 lessons and the tools and media to customize them or create your own from scratch.

About the Organization: The Lighthouse Guild was created in 2014 through the merger of Lighthouse International, founded in 1905 as the Lighthouse, and the Guild, established in 1914 as the New York Guild for the Jewish Blind.

We are a group of professionals and volunteers, and almost all of us have disabilities ourselves. We are passionate about supporting and empowering other people with disabilities to lead meaningful, independent lives and to actively participate in their communities. We are not a training center.
