Trudy Hartman, MD

I am a psychiatrist providing diagnostic evaluations and medication treatment. For psychotherapy, I refer my patients to local therapists. Studies show that combined medication and therapy is the most effective for treatment of mental disorders. I treat a wide variety of patients with diagnoses that include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, panic, OCD, and psychotic disorders.

A psychiatric evaluation for children and adolescents requires two, if not three one hour sessions, one to two for the patient and one for the parents. For adult patients, one is sometimes sufficient, particularly for patients already in psychotherapy. With authorization, I will contact the therapist to gather further information and coordinate care.

Since I do not provide psychotherapy, there is generally room in my practice to see patients within one to two weeks, although sometimes it takes longer to find a mutually acceptable time for the first appointment. I am easily accessible by telephone and return calls within one business day.
