Terryann Sanders (MFC41760) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in San Jose, CA. She graduated in 2001 from San Jose State University with a Masters degree in counseling psychology, and started her private practice in 2003.
Terryann became interested in eating disorders after working at an internship that specialized in preparing psychological assessments for bariatric surgery. In 2006 she completed the JFKU Eating Disorder Certificate Program to increase her education and training specific to the field of eating disorders.
Terryann provides and attends peer consultation groups, and enjoys the occassional speaking engagement in her community. She is a member and Past-President (2011) of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED), the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), and SCV-CAMFT.
Terryann's approach to therapy is non-judgmental and strength based, and she enjoys working with adolescents and adults. She believes that recovery is a personal path to discovery that involves getting in touch with your body in healthy ways, as well as redefining your relationships with self and others.
