Palo Alto Housing

Our Mission: To create stronger, more diverse communities by providing and maintaining high-quality affordable housing where individuals and families thrive.

We’re Palo Alto Housing—nice to meet you! We’re Bay Area locals, and we’ve been in Palo Alto since the ‘70s. We’re an independent non-profit agency that builds, develops, acquires, and manages low- and moderate-income housing in Palo Alto and the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide high-quality, safe housing; subsidize rents to the greatest degree possible, and support our residents in reaching their goals through the Resident Services program.

We believe that everyone has their own story, yet we all want the same thing: we want what’s best for our families; we want to do meaningful work. We believe that communities benefit when people can afford to live in them, and that when it comes down to it, nothing is more valuable than people. See you around town!

Independent Living for Seniors, Education for Youth, Capacity-Building for Adults, Health and Wellness for All.

Our Resident Services Program is an integral part of our mission. The Resident Services program aims to bring our community together to build capacity, unite for a common purpose, and to celebrate individual and community talents, skills and assets.

We strive to create an empowering living environment that supports our residents in reaching their goals. Whether it is helping seniors live independently, making it possible for those with disabilities to live autonomously and with dignity, or promoting stability so families can focus on education and careers, living in service-enriched affordable housing creates connected neighbors, engaged lives and bright futures.
