Kainos Home and Training Center

The mission of Kainos programs and services is to provide a wide variety of residential, vocational and related services, with the highest quality training and support, to adults with developmental disabilities so that each individual may maximize his or her potential and become an active member of the community.

The goal of the Kainos programs is to assist adults with developmental disabilities in maximizing their potential. To achieve this end, Kainos provides a variety of residential, vocational and support services that include but are not limited to:

  • Residential services – Daily living skills training (personal hygiene, household maintenance, health and safety, personal budgeting, meal planning and preparation,   individual and group counseling), independent living   independent living services, supported living services, communication skills, and a wide range of leisure activities.
  • Vocational training- Vocational assessment, job readiness classes, computer training, community based work teams, job placement, on-site support services, Horticulture and Landscape training.
  • Support Services- recreational and social opportunities.

Kainos offers a variety of progressive housing opportunities in San Mateo County

-All of these opportunities are provided with 3 core beliefs:

All residents should have the opportunity to live as independently as able and desire
Care is provided professionally with compassion and respect
Each person has a high quality, desirable home
-We operate:

three 24-hour care homes
4 supported living homes
1 senior care home-We hope to be able to open another senior care home in the near future.
-All residents are supported in pursuing their activities of interest and learning how to be as independent as possible. Some of those activities are:

Dancing/Square Dancing
Puzzles and Games
Dining Out
Volunteer work
