Cadence Music Therapy Services provides individual and group music therapy sessions at client's home or facility in San Francisco and San Francisco Peninsula. Music therapists address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals through a variety of music interventions including singing, playing instruments, improvisation, songwriting, moving to music etc. An initial assessment will be conducted in order to determine goals and objectives. Treatment goals are non-musical and specific to individual client needs such as: increase speech production, improve language development, increase attention span, and improve social skills etc. In addition to music therapy services, piano lessons and adapted music lessons are also available for students of all ages and abilities.
Yuriko Urushibata is a board certified music therapist. She graduated from University of the Pacific with bachelor's degrees in Music Therapy and Piano Performance. Yuriko has an advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy, with the designation of Fellow from the Robert F. Unkefer Academy at the Center for Biomedical Research in Music. Yuriko has experience working with children with special needs, specializing in early intervention and school-age population. She also has several years of experience teaching piano to children and adults.
