Better Psychotherapy offers supportive counseling to adults, couples, and families. I strive to create a collaborative, caring, and supportive atmosphere that will assist you in identifying and changing the thoughts, the behaviors, and the interpersonal styles that are no longer effective for you. I offer confidential, supportive and caring environment free of judgment that will facilitate your journey through difficulties and challenges.

Yelena Alper, LCSW, MSW, CHT
I work with adults, couples, and families. I offer supportive psychotherapy for a variety of issues and concerns including relationship conflicts, grief and loss, stress management, depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, domestic violence, anger management, and family and mariage relationships. Therapy is about change. I assist clients in finding happier and healthier ways of being in their lives, help them to enhance communication skills; promoting positive and lasting change; dealing with life transitions/losses; substance abuse recovery work.
I use collaborative goal-oriented approach, providing empathy and compassion, using interventions from a variety of theories helping clients to identify their own strengths and potential to best achieve their personal goals and growth. My style is warm, empathic, interactive and respectful of each person’s values and choices.
My orientation is cognitive, eclectic, and psychodynamic. I teach my clients mindfulness breathing and relaxation skills. I use visualization, “homework assignments”, and other tools as appropriate. I am available on evenings and weekends.
