Autism Intervention Professionals

AIP specializes in an intensive therapy known as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA-based therapy focuses on increasing communication, social skills, and self-help/independent living skills, as well as decreasing maladaptive behaviors. ABA is the only treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) recommended by medical professionals and the surgeon general. AIP believes that services should be family-focused. Our compassionate professionals take an integrated approach to treatment, while empowering families to help their children build independence. We’ll focus on your child’s strengths, their unique personality, and the goals that are important to you both. You will even receive suggestions and resources to incorporate new skills into daily routines. Services are provided in the home, community, and/or at school (depending on the funding source). ABA therapy is usually provided on a daily basis (M-F, occasionally on weekends). The number of hours will depend on the results of the assessment that will be conducted prior to providing intensive therapy.

Our occupational therapists (OTs) are committed to providing exceptional treatment for children and youth. We celebrate diversity with an emphasis on building from your child’s unique sensory, physical and learning profile. We will work closely with your family to develop a complete plan of care and will empower your child to enjoy the “occupations” of childhood: learning and playing, eating and drinking, dressing and self-care. Through carefully composed treatment sessions, they’ll be guided to manage their emotions and sensory needs and to be independent at home and in the community.

Whether your child is a late talker, has difficulty pronouncing sounds or words, requires feeding or swallowing support, or has complex communication challenges, AIP has experienced speech-language pathologists (SLPs) who can help. We focus on making communication both functional and meaningful. And we consider all aspects of a child’s development while using a collaborative approach with the family, school teams and physicians.
