Assistive Technology in the IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan)

Wed, Aug 29, 2018: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

What is Assistive Technology for children 0-3?
How can it help my child?
How do I get it?

Assistive Technology (AT) can be a game-changer for young children with disabilities.  That’s why it is so important for parents and professionals to understand what it is and how it may help young children communicate, play, socialize and learn.

In this workshop you will learn what AT is, how it might benefit your child or client, and how to appropriately consider it when developing the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).  Learn what the law says about including AT in the IFSP and gain a better understanding of a child’s rights to AT. See technology tools demonstrated, and take away useful handouts and resources.

Simultaneous interpretation in Spanish will be provided.
