Learning Differences/Attention Deficit Disorder Parent Support Group

Our monthly Learning Disabilities/Attention Deficit Disorder Parent Support Group meets from 6:10 - 7:15 pm. September through May, just preceding our LD/ADD Lecture Series that begins at 7:30. It provides an open forum for parents to share their concerns, insights and experiences. Volunteer facilitators lead the group sessions and try to give everyone an opportunity to speak briefly about their most pressing issue as well as to learn of available resources they may wish to explore.

ADD/ADHD and Behavior - LD/ADHD Lecture Series

Are you grappling with behavior, oppositional behavior, child/teen upsets, laziness, inconsistency, and other difficulties? It is essential that the family works together to help the child/teen with ADHD overcome behavioral issues, mood swings and impulse control. Can it be diet, sleep patterns, family expectations, and school pressure? Is it a combination of all of the above or simply having ADHD? Come and find out what we have learned from our families and research combined.

The Who, What, Where, When, Why and How of Assessments - LD/ADHD Lecture Series

If you have concerns over learning and/or attention, it is very important to seek a definitive diagnosis and report. In the world of special education, a formal assessment is the tool that yields such information and opens the door to more specific help. Hear what a thorough assessment entails and how to understand and use the results to enhance success.

Walk in the Shoes of a Student with LD and/or ADHD - LD/ADHD Lecture Series

If you haven’t participated in one of these experiential sessions, now is the time to “get” what a student with LD and/or ADHD feels daily in school and at home. Experience directly through this learning disability simulation* different types of learning challenges. Parents, relatives and educators will be better able to advocate for and support their child/student. Teachers are free tonight.
