Ed Advocacy; Organize your Child's Education Records

Bring your child's educational records and hear ideas about how to organize them!

If you wish, bring a food item to share.  Coffee and Tea will be provided.

Stay for an open peer support group, ask questions, meet other parents in our community!

If you don't have all of your child's educational records, know that you can make a written request to your school district and they must provide them to you within five business days. If the school year has ended in your district, send your request to your school district office for response.

Person Centered One Page Profile Training

A one-page profile is a single page of information that captures the important information about a person; including what is important to them, what people appreciate about them, and how they want to be supported. One person may have many one-page profiles. For instance, one to introduce them to new caregivers, one for the doctor's office, another for school or other services.

Each profile contains at least 3 areas: What people like and admire about the individual; What is important to the person; and what good support looks like for the person.

Sparrows

The Sparrows is a once-a-week gathering for adults with special needs (18+ years old) and their caregivers.

We meet every Wednesday morning at 10am.  The morning begins with listening to the wonderful stories in the Bible, followed by a bible verse teaching, and singing hymns.  We also participate in group activities such as art and crafts, exercise, dancing, and/or board games.  Occasionally, there will be a life skill training such as baking, or making treats etc.
