Our vision at The Buddy Organization is to give special needs kids a secure sense of warmth and belonging.
We work to provide these kids with a compatible high school friend/buddy who can help them improve their social skills through working with them one-on-one consistently throughout a set period of time.
Our programs focus on closing the communication barrier between special needs kids and the general public through training the kids to become more apt to making new friends.
This organization works to train high schoolers to befriend and work one-on-one in the home of special needs kids. Parents generally supervise visits and pay the high schoolers a $15/hour stipend (some students also elect to donate this amount back to the organization).
