The Special Education Parent Advisory provides education, training and networking opportunities for parents of students with disabilities whose children receive special education services in the district. The purpose of these meetings is to address issues of interest and concern on specific topics of interest to parents of these adolescents and young adults. Students who participate in Adult Transition/Post-Secondary services move into a new world of support when they age out of public school services. This session will describe how we prepare our students and families for life after adult transition, and what awaits them in terms of supports and services.
